Two of my favorite all-time students have just opened on Broadway in “GIGI” and “BEAUTIFUL” respectively,

Vanessa Hudgens is getting raves in “GIGI” (i.e.  Variety: “Vanessa Hudgens (“High School Musical”) has the clarion voice and aggressive delivery of an unabashed Broadway belter,” Star Ledger:”Hudgens, whose entrance prompted a tidal wave of high-pitched screams and applause, deserves credit for pulling off a role that must nearly carry the show. In this version, Gigi is not only the focus, but also an ideal. She speaks out for women’s rights and points out ridiculous aspects of society. Yet there’s nothing didactic about her – Gigi is still prone to silliness and in no way above enjoying a gossip column or two. Hudgens gives a generous  performance as she transitions from an irrepressible tomboy to an elegant woman in love. She sings extraordinarily well and impressively keeps pace with the show’s dancers. Her bright, poppy voice moves smoothly through the fizzy classic “The Night They Invented Champagne” and sweetly through the heartfelt ballad “The Letter.”)

Jessica Keenan Wynn, who has been studying with me since age 15,  is now making her Broadway debut as  Cynthia Weil in the Carole King musical -= “Beautiful”

Brava to both of my girls!!
